A Symbol of Peace
The Circle of Hearts Medicine Wheel
The Medicine Wheel was completed in 2000 with help from Roy Littlesun. The first set of volunteers who assisted with the creation of the medicine wheel were given the title of "Trustees" or "Guardians" of the wheel.
It is made up of 108 limestones from Weston Underwood, and upon its completion native chiefs from the onodage tribe came to Milton Keynes to spend time praying and smoking their pipes of peace over the stones.
The wheel itself has four large gateways that represent four compass points, the seasons, the races and the four elements.
The Medicine Wheel stands south of the Peace Pagoda and is definitely an interesting work to explore during a trip to Willen.
