The new Milton Keynes Gallery is a stunning building that showcases important exhibitions of both contemporary and historic art and design, as well as hosting a range of public programmes. The gallery has its own café and shop, plus a cinema from Curzon, and offers spectacular views over the park. It opened in 2019 and presents three major exhibitions each year, across five light and airy galleries. These can be thematic group exhibitions or more in-depth solo presentations. In addition to the exhibitions, there is also a programme of music, dance, talks and conferences throughout the year. This mixes emerging talent with established names, both locally based and from further afield. There is also a weekly film programme featuring the best of independent cinema, in partnership with Curzon. Finally, the gallery offers schools and family activities throughout the year, plus an artist-designed play area which is open every day.
